Dear Birthparent,

Our names are Rodger and Britten. We were high school sweethearts and after Rodger’s time in the Navy, we were married. In the time that we have been together, we have formed a deeper love, trust and respect for each other and our families and friends. We very much want to include a child in our lives.

For the past eleven years, we have tried to have a child on our own without success. We went through many medical procedures that, in the end, did not help. For a very long time, we have discussed thought and prayed about adoption. We are very confident that adoption is right for us. Our family supports our decision and they are very anxious for a new child to join us.

We want you to know that Rodger was an adopted child and personally knows the change and joy that an adoption brings into a family’s life. His experience as an adopted child has prepared him to understand the support, care, and love that an adopted child needs. He can answer the questions an adopted child may one day ask.

A little information about us: We both grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio and graduated from Perrysburg High School. Rodger joined the US Navy and was discharged in 1993. Britten runs a small day care service out of our home and currently watches a few small children a day. Roger is a full-time maintenance mechanic. We own a very nice, three bedroom, well maintained home and can provide the financial support and educational support a new child needs. We love animals and have a great and loving dog. There are many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both Britten’s and Rodger’s sides who would very much love to have a new addition to our family. The young cousins in our family are very close and all live nearby.

We regularly take summer vacations to a cabin in Michigan. Our families participate in these vacations and really look forward to time spent with each other on the lake and beach

We know that a good education is a very important role in bringing up a child. We are committed to providing a well rounded education for our children.

We want to include our children in activities that they choose (sports, dance, school groups, etc.) and have them form friendships with other children who will provide a positive influence.

There are so many things we could write, so many emotions and feelings that we could share. We are a loving and caring couple who truly want a child in our lives that we can care for and raise, a child that we would love as our own. We stand ready with open hearts, minds, and arms.
